Thinking About Selling Your Home? Read This First!

July 12, 2013

The economy sure is shifting lately and now is certainly a good time to sell your home.  With forsalesketchthat being said, there are a few pitfalls when it comes to selling that you will want to avoid.  The first of these may seem obvious but you will want to make sure to price your house to sell.  A recent study reported by Zillow shows that 75% of people think that their agent’s listing price is too low.  While it stands to reason that most people believe their house is worth more chances are pricing it too high will only delay the process as well as delaying the inevitable reduced price listing.

The next mistake that many people make is fix up, clean up, and spruce up their homes before the open house but neglect to do so before their photos are taken and their listing is put online.  In today’s new age market the online listing is everything and will determine if someone wants to even attend an open house or inquire further.  You want these pictures to show your house in tip top shape to garnish more attention.  Along those same lines you will want to avoid just snapping some pictures with your phone and posting those.  Having professional looking photos really helps when it comes to catching a perspective buyers attention online.

Hopefully if you follow these tips and take advantage of the increasing market you can sell your home quickly and painlessly so you can move onto one that better suits your needs! Please feel free to call with any questions you may have on selling your home.
